We are human beings. Not diagnoses, not disorders, and not problems.
Psychotherapy utilizes advancements in the sciences of mental health while keeping in mind the deeper, more rooted experience of being human, that is reflected in the arts, literature and humanities. We utilize the space not only to heal wounding, but to incubate and nourish growth.
As a client-centered clinician, I collaborate with you as we pool knowledge and understanding to find the treatment plan that is right for you. I am neither anti-medicine or adamantly pro-medicine. However, I think anti-depressants prescribed for the use to treat both anxiety and depression can be extremely beneficial compared to psychotherapy alone. Science agrees, and you will find research on BiPolar disorder that supports the use of therapy plus medication.
